Note * Originally built in 1940, after
current owners purchased the property in late 1989, the
property was "re-built" and completely
remodeled (i.e., re leveled under the building, in the
floor radiant heat added to lower level, new plumbing and
electrical, 8 inches of insulation, new siding, steal I
beams inserted between levels, replaced all windows and
doors, added rooms, added a mound septic system). The
remodel was completed for the Grand Opening in July of
2000 and in 2001 and 2002 the breezeway, garage, apartment
and front porch were added on.
Additional
Note: The town of Baudette is a port of entry to Canada.
The property borders the Rainy River and Canada is on the other side. The Rainy River divides the
property with Canada and Lake of the Woods has both U.S.
and Canada boundary waters.

snowmobiling (Trail Head begins at the end of our
driveway) and ice fishing are splendid activities in this

What's Wild in the Woods?
Deer frequent
the yard daily and the resort area thrives during the
hunting season. You may also see in our neck of the woods
bear, fox, raccoon, beaver, mink, otter, several other
creatures, and fowl to give you scenes of delight while
taking in the splendor of the fresh Minnesota air. There
is a large Eagle's nest across the field at the end of
our road. Grab your binoculars and spend the afternoon
watching these majestic creatures.

The Lake
Lake of the
Woods is approximately 38 feet at its deepest and covers
1,980 square miles of which 1,485 square miles are water.
It is 65 miles long and 55 miles wide. About two thirds
of the lake is in Canada, and about one third is in
Minnesota. It has 14,000 islands, more than any other
lake in North America. LOTW is the walleye capital
of the world and also has Great Northern and Sauger
fish. If you enjoy casting to shoreline structure,
youll like it at LOTW, there are 65,000 miles of
shoreline here!
